The Sea Dragon Difference

Why Choose Sea Dragon?

A closer look at the materials we use, the choices you have, and how we approach a kitchen refacing project.

Cabinet Refacing vs. Full Replacement

Refacing keeps your existing cabinet boxes in place. We replace the doors and drawer fronts, cover the face frames and exposed sides with new material, and add new hardware and molding. Full replacement removes the cabinets entirely and installs new ones.

Refacing is often a good fit when your cabinet boxes are sound and you are happy with the layout of your kitchen. Replacement may be the better choice when cabinets are damaged or when you want to change the layout.

Not every cabinet is suitable for refacing. We look at the condition and construction of your existing cabinets during the in-home consultation before recommending an approach.

Our Natural Wood Selections

White oak and walnut are at the heart of our Essential Collection, in timeless Shaker and contemporary slab door styles.

Looking for something different? We can source additional wood species. Availability and pricing depend on the manufacturer and on your project.

Hardwood-Faced Plywood Side Panels

For exposed cabinet sides, we typically use 1/8-inch to 1/4-inch hardwood-faced plywood, rather than relying exclusively on thin peel-and-stick veneers.

Thinner alternatives may be necessary where appliance clearances or other physical conditions require them. The material for each panel is chosen after we assess your cabinets.

Solid Wood Face-Frame Refacing

For suitable cabinet face frames, we use 1/8-inch solid wood refacing material, finished to match your new doors.

Whether a face frame is suitable depends on its condition and construction, which we check before the project begins.

Painted and Custom Finish Options

Our Signature Collection offers painted cabinetry in a curated selection of standard colors, from crisp whites and sophisticated neutrals to rich, expressive hues.

Looking for something more personal? Choose a custom color matched to your favorite Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore shade to create a kitchen that reflects your unique style.

Specialty Cabinet Doors and Glass Options

Our Reserve Collection offers designer door styles with architectural details and textured surfaces for homeowners looking for something beyond the ordinary.

Glass cabinet doors can add an open, elegant look to upper cabinets and pantry spaces. Glass-ready door frames may be available in select styles, subject to compatibility and manufacturer availability. Explore glass doors.

Molding, Cabinet Extensions, and Storage Upgrades

Decorative molding helps bring the whole kitchen together. Where cabinets stop short of the ceiling, we can install custom molding or build additional upper cabinet boxes, depending on the gap above your existing cabinetry.

Storage upgrades such as pull-out shelves and pull-out trash and recycling cabinets can be added as part of the project.

Our Design Consultation and Installation Process

It starts with a phone conversation about your kitchen and what you would like to change. We then discuss scope, materials, and an estimated investment range so you can decide whether to move forward.

If the plan fits your goals and budget, we visit your home to take measurements and evaluate your existing cabinetry. You receive a detailed proposal to review and approve before we coordinate materials and installation.
